SKIING INSTRUCTION

The Pittsburgh Ski Club offers skiing and snowboarding instruction discounts to MEMBERS ONLY. The various ski/snowboard intruction discounts are noted below.


2009–2010 OFFERS

Seven Springs is offering the following specialty lessons:
    February 7th: Black Zone I or Intermediate Zone I Levels Group Lessons
    February 28th: Black Zone II or Intermediate Zone II Group Lessons at Seven Springs

These programs are designed for skiers and boarders who want to improve their skills. Every session is taught by an instructor who has an in-depth knowledge of the lesson’s topic. Each program is one hour and 45 minutes in length and dedicated to the finer points of each topic. You are welcome to enroll in both programs or select the lesson that is most of most interest to you. The Sunday Adult Ski and Board program is $15 per person with a $30 day lift ticket for each session if the PSC can get ten people to sign up. (Regular price $40 for lesson plus $60 lift ticket). These classes begin at 11 a.m. To sign up, complete an Application and mail it with your check to Kim Falk at 25 N Harrison Ave #5, Pittsburgh, PA 15202. PSC members only. February 7th class applications must be received by February 3rd. February 28th class applications must be received by February 24th. Call Kim at 412-716-0881 for details.

Ever wanted to try jumps, half pipe or other park activities? Here’s your chance. Sunday, March 14th, 11:00 AM, we’ll be hosting an introduction class at Hidden Valley. You need to be either able to ski intermediate parallel or board at an intermediate level to be in the class. To get in the class you also need to be 13 or older and a current member of the PSC. Helmets are required. Details about the cost of lessons, rentals, and lift ticket are in the works. Contact Kim Falk at 412-716-0881 or send an email if you are interested. To participate, send an Application to Kim. A group of 15 is needed to get this discounted rate from the resort.


THE TWT “TIME WILL TELL” SKI RACING INSTRUCTION PROGRAM AT 7–SPRINGS

Whether you are a first–time racer or seasoned gate runner you can benefit from this ski racing instruction program. For a schedule of classes, cost and other information go to the skiexpert.net website. You must be a current member to participate.


PENNSYLVANIA SKI AREAS ASSOCIATION’S “LEARN TO SKI PROGRAM” FOR 2009–2010

$30.00 FOR LIMITED LIFT TICKET, LESSON AND RENTALS

A special $30 package deal for a beginner lift ticket (no upgrade), one beginner group lesson and complete rental equipment is now available through the Pennsylvania Ski Area Association. The package is good at 22 resorts including Blue Knob, Hidden Valley, Seven Springs and Mystic Mountain (Nemacolin Woodlands).

Quantities are limited, and orders must be received on or before December 11, 2009. The coupons are good anytime, including weekends and holidays. Contact your preferred ski area for hours of operation. These coupons are good only for the 2009–2010 ski season. The passes are non–refundable, may have chairlift restrictions, and are not for resale.

Minimum age requirements are in effect. Seven Springs will take children as young as 7, Hidden Valley 8 years old, Blue Knob 8 years old and Mystic Mountain as young as 4.

CROSS COUNTRY SKI LESSONS AT LAUREL RIDGE

January 16th: Free lesson at 8 AM by Alice Cottone or at 1 PM from PA Cross Country Skiers’ Association. You do not have to be a Club member to participate.
